About RMI

It is the mission of Rejoice Ministries International that every believer would “be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge”.

Colossians 2:2-3

History of Rejoice Ministries International

While worshipping on a Sunday morning in the Spring of 1995, Dick Dungan heard the Lord speak to his heart these words, you are Rejoice Ministries, a ministry of encouragement. A few months later the Lord showed him clearly that Colossians 2:2,3 was the purpose for the rest of his life. Thus, Rejoice Ministries International was born.

The ministry of RMI was originally focused on serving the local church through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God and challenging men to become spiritual leaders. However, that quickly changed when Dick was invited to several other countries to bring teaching and encouragement. From then on, RMI has been involved in all three-dimensions of the Body of Christ.

Trans-locally, several Pastors invited Dick to come and encourage and minister to their congregations. For several of these Pastors, Dick became a mentor and encourager to them which has led to long-term relationships and ministry with churches across the USA. He especially ministered to Men on topics of character such as purity of heart, biblical manhood, and overcoming passivity. This led to developing a ministry for fathers and sons and the importance of receiving and walking in the Father’s blessing.

As the trans-local ministry grew several men and women in their home church asked he and Mary to come alongside them as mentors. This has led them to create a mentoring ministry in which they have become more intentionally trans-generational in their ministry. RMI has been involved in creating many retreat opportunities that encourage and equip young couples and families in realizing the possibility of having a real Christian home.

Internationally, RMI began partnering with a ministry that networks and mobilizes missionaries for China and SE Asia. After a few short years he began focusing on offering pastoral care to those he and others had mobilized. They needed care so that they would survive the pressure and struggles of life in difficult areas of the world. This began the international pastoral care ministry of RMI.

Throughout the ministry of Dick and Mary significant relationships began to be deeply established. Within these relationships it became clear that others had the same heart and passion of Dick and Mary. This would begin a new transition and expansion of RMI. Currently, RMI consists of a team of 10 associates who have the same heart and vision as its founders and are ministering together in all three dimensions of the Body of Christ.

Today, Dick and Mary continue to encourage many in the Body of Christ. They have a heart to invest in the next generations of Kingdom leaders. RMI is no longer a mom and pop ministry. With an engaged Board of Directors and a team of mature associates RMI has a significant future. Rejoice Ministries International is an expanding ministry that holds to the core values of its founders; to encourage, equip and lead believers into a full relationship with Jesus Christ, a revelation of the Father’s heart and to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit. Dick and Mary are ministers of Fellowship of Connected Churches & Ministries in Euless, Texas.

Rejoice Ministries International was founded by Dick Dungan in 1995 as a ministry of encouragement to the Body of Christ. Dick carries an anointing to come along side of pastors, missionaries and ministry leaders to strengthen them in their personal walk with the Lord as well as assist them in training up the next generation of Kingdom leaders. Additionally, God has given Dick a mandate to “call men up” into biblical manhood impacting their lives as husbands, fathers and spiritual leaders in their families, the church and their communities.

Over the years God has given Dick a tremendous love for the beauty and diversity of the Body of Christ throughout the world resulting in a deep burden for unity, revival and empowerment to fulfill the Great Commission!

David and Jennifer Kruse

David and Jennifer Kruse

David and Jennifer Kruse have been part of the RMI team for seventeen years and are our only foreign-based team members.  Living and serving overseas has been in God’s plan for David and Jennifer since before they met on the mission field in Peru, South America and were married in 1991. Jennifer is the daughter of career missionaries, having grown up in South America, and David received his call to overseas service shortly after coming to Christ in 1984.

David and Jennifer have six children – five grown sons, ages 28-20, and one daughter, Olivia (16), who is still at home.  The Kruses have served in Peru (2 years), SE Asia for eight years, between 2001and 2012, and have been serving in Germany for the past eight years.  June 2020 to June 2021 has been a furlough year back in the U.S.

In Kandern, Germany, David and Jennifer have served as dorm parents to high school boys at Black Forest Academy (BFA) and have used their gifts of hospitality, pastoral care and discipleship to ‘parent’ young men. They loved the call to serve missionary families who are serving in Europe, Central Asia and Africa by caring for their sons. Depending on the school year, they had between eighteen and twenty-two “dorm sons” and have a heart to raise up the next generation of Godly leaders. Serving at Black Forest Academy also met the schooling and social needs of their children after years of homeschooling in SE Asia.

As they return to Germany in June 2021, they will be taking on a new role by serving as Pastoral Care on the staff of Black Forest Christian Fellowship, an English speaking, international fellowship in Kandern.   The role will allow them the opportunity to not only continue working with the students and staff of BFA, but to also come alongside families, singles and the German community.

Gregg and Beth Stone

Gregg and Beth Stone

Gregg and Beth Stone have been RMI associates since 2006. Originally from the East Coast, they met at a Vineyard Christian Fellowship in NJ and have been married for 26 years. Early in their marriage they lived in the Czech Republic as missionaries, working with a Baptist church and teaching English in the community. After returning to the US, they moved to Kansas City MO and were part of a small group of people that helped start The International House of Prayer. Gregg served on staff and as a worship leader at IHOP for 7 years. In 2006, they met Dick and Mary Dungan and immediately connected with RMI’s commitment to strengthen and encourage missionaries on the field.

Over the past 10 years, they have been blessed to walk out many seasons of life with the RMI team. Worship, women’s ministry and international missions trips have been a focus for them. When Beth was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, God shifted their focus to the importance of walking in health; body, soul and spirit, and also of keeping healthy priorities of God: first, family: second and ministry : third. Gregg and Beth are grateful for the journey that God has had them on. They welcome the opportunity to share what they have learned and love to testify of how God healed Beth from cancer. Excited for their future, they have a passion to see people living fully alive and are committed to helping them find the healing and restoration that God has promised. Gregg and Beth also enjoy using their giftings of creativity and hospitality to bless and encourage others.

M and C (SE Asia)

M and C (SE Asia)

Married in 1985, M and C began their life together with a mutual vision to spend their lives knowing Him and making Him known, working in the harvest field to see the nations worship Him. After many varied experiences traveling to different countries, they fell in love with the unreached peoples of Asia. Their hands have been on the plough in the SE Asia field since 1998. They have loved relating to the open-hearted people and find it a privilege to share their hearts and their lives with them as they invest in young leaders and their families. During their years overseas, they grew in self-care skills and caring for the souls of both their expatriate co-workers and their national friends.

They love to ‘tend’ people, mind-body-and-spirit, through prayer and the Word. Their self-described ministry style is ‘slow and deep’: coming alongside others to know, nurture, and fan the flame in hearts, establishing people as those who are ‘planted by streams of water’. (Jeremiah 17:7-8) God has proven Himself more than faithful during their 30+ years of ministry experience and they seek to pass on what He has built into them over the years.

They feel privileged to work with Rejoice Ministries International representing their heart for the harvest field and its laborers in SE Asia. Their personal ministry to leaders includes counseling, coaching, training in cross-cultural discipleship, and encouragement in building healthy marriages and team relationships.

Thank you for your interest and commitment to support them, investing in their work to touch people who are often forgotten, but in and through whom their Savior loves to work in deeply personal and glorious ways.

Ted and Karolyn Cook

Ted and Karolyn Cook

The Cooks are both Family Practice medical doctors. They met the first day of medical school and will have been married 34 years on June 2, 2018. Both Karolyn and Ted have a deep passion to bring healing to the WHOLE person—physical, mental and most importantly spiritual. Blessed with giftings including healing, encouragement, teaching and more, the Cooks have training and practice with several healing prayer models.

God called the Cooks to resign from full time medical practice in 2016 so they could serve more frequently on medical mission trips. Since 1995, when the Cooks lost their third son, Corban Jonathan, to SIDS, the Cooks have been privileged to minister to those dealing with grief, especially those grieving the loss of a child.

Teaching has always been a passion of Ted’s. He actively teaches in churches, schools, nursing programs, paramedic programs and physician training programs. He has worked in leadership positions repeatedly, enjoying the opportunities to develop talents and gifts in others.

Karolyn excels in personal ministry to women. Using her background of medicine and giftings of compassion, wisdom, and teaching she has empowered many to step into the fullness of their calling by God. She enjoys dramatic interpretation of women in the Bible, illustrating in deep and lasting ways God’s messages to women today.

Ted & Karolyn have 4 adult children—Christopher (Sharon) + Alexander, Caleb, Chad (Hannah) and Katybeth. All of the children have a deep faith that leads them to minister locally and abroad, though all have weathered significant storms growing up. What a privilege to see God ministering in and through the next generations!
